Devastation sprints home as track season comes to an end. Track season will have its final meet soon, and after that the season is over! Some players are happy to say that track has come to an end while others are not. For instance seniors are most devastated to say that this will be there very last ever high school track meet. While more of the underclassmen will be jumping with joy after their last victory track meet!

As the season comes closer to the end more and more players become nervous and upset, which in turn affects how they perform. This affects some positively and some negatively. On the negative side, players may be subject to not giving their all at a meet. While on the positive side other players may be pushing to their extreme limit because they realize this will be their last meet so they want to perform to their fullest.

However, just because track is over for the season that does not mean it’s over forever. Whether you are a senior and this is your last year for high school track, there is always college track. If you’re an underclassmen there are your next few years of high school track and then if you choose you can excel in college track as well.

Nick Wharry, a senior at Ionia High School, is sad to say, “Even though it’s my last year performing high school track, I’m looking forward to college track next year!” So to everyone out there who does track, or any other sport for that matter, just remember it’s never the end unless you make it the end.
