Last semester, the blood drive was held after school on Tuesday, November 29th. There were 40 donations of usable blood, which is equivalent to 120 portions of blood for hospitals to use.

This year, they held it after school at IHS and it was hosted by the National Honors Society (NHS).

Principal Gurk said, “The reason for having the blood drive after school is because it will take less time out of our student’s education.”

Second semester, NHS, along with the advisor, Mrs. Shattuck, are sponsoring another blood drive.  It will be held on April 28th, after school from 3 pm to 7 pm, in room 304. The Red Cross is in contact with Heartlands to hopefully hold a blood drive during school from 9 am to 3 pm, sponsored by the Red Cross.
