Onward and Upward: This group of seniors is looking forward to the end of the school year.

Now that third trimester is under way, it is truly safe to say that senior year is almost over for the class of 2012. Between finishing up those last few credits and making the most of the limited time left with friends, most seniors find this part of the school year to be a busy time. It may seem that there is a long way left to go, but the truth is that it is only a matter of weeks before this year’s graduating class is finished with high school. For seniors, the last day of classes is May 18th. This date will be coming up very quickly, as seniors will soon come to realize.

Now that the end is so near, excitement is building up among many seniors. “I can’t wait to graduate,” said senior Bethany Krick. “I just want to be done with school.” Seniors who are looking forward to being done with school don’t have long to wait. After spring break, seniors only have about a month and a half left of school.

The warm weather in March and early April helped to escalate the feeling that the end is near. Temperatures had been higher than average, and when temperatures go up, it feels as if the school year is winding down. The warmer weather has certainly planted the seed for the taste of freedom that comes with summer. For the class of 2012, that freedom will come soon enough.
